Writers Inside & Out 2011-12

This is my second year here (at the Lyman Hall school blog) and I’m glad I’m here again.

 I enjoy listening to my music, I literally wake up because I know  I can  to listen to my iPod ( that’s why I’m not late for school any more) My favorite activity would be playing  basket ball though I’m only 4 feet 11. That doesn’t really make a difference to me. I very much like almond Hershies, Snickers, Twix and many chocolaty desserts.

 My dreams in life of becoming are lawyer, cardiologist, and or undercover cop. I decided lawyer because I like the feeling of sticking up for people. A cardiologist because it would be a pleasure to help somebody who is having heart problems and seeing them healthier is a good feeling.  Also I thought about being an undercover cop when I grow up because I would be really scared if I were a real cop because of all the violence and its easier to get spotted/shot.   

My life here at Lyman Hall has been like spending a summer at your grandparent’s home. I’ve grown up here, played here, done my regrets, and I’ve learned more then I would have at any other school. I know many teachers here at Lyman Hall elementary school and I won’t forget them for sure none of them.

I think the most important thing for me would have to be my family. They mean so much to me and I wouldn’t change them. I love my parents. Aunts and uncles equally. Yet I LOVE my PETS MORE then I love them…. I think.

Whenever I get bored at school I try to day dream about my favorite book (Gathering Blue) you know like visualizing or making a movie in my head. When I do that I feel so grateful that I was born in the 21 century! I have read many books. My over all favorite topics would be about orphans, diaries, and death. 

  I like watching movies (LITTLE KID movies)    o.o      I may be an 11 year old girl but I love them for some reason.   I kind of like watching scary movies but If I do I might end up peeing my pants at night (hasn’t happened YET) I’m filled of unexpected things. I DON’T LIE….. 

I hate being confident with people at school. I don’t really trust them much. I’m only confident when I’m around friends I’ve had in other classes but for me it’s hard to make new friends because they always judge right away and like I said I’m the unexpected. That’s one of the reasons I hate working in groups. If people weren’t like that I would be really confident with everybody not really caring much, but no people aren’t nor will they ever be.

I HATE winter. It’s so cold and I either get a stuffed up nose or a runny nose -.- I don’t like those! But I’m also getting tanned. I’m already dark enough. I hate spring because if I straighten my hair it gets puffy and I look like a lion. I may like acting like one but not looking like one. I’m not that fierce. So obviously I like fall. Not falling just pure fall. It starts to get quieter. NO GIRLS/GUYS RUNNING AROUND HALF NAKED!  It’s actually a really good time to go out and walk with your pets. A good time to start wearing vans and DC.

Like I said before I LOVE music! I’m really unexpected. My appearance is the tough chick but what people don’t know is that I like piano, violin, and the cello.  But yet again I do like rock/metal alternative. I think that I am a bit of everything. That’s good though.

I prefer playing basketball then anything thing else, but I will play almost anything. JUST NOT DODGE BALL I HATE dodge ball with all my life and my dog’s life!

I do like sweet stuff though I’m trying to get skinnier. I LOVE cheesecake, candy bars, watermelon, and much more J

I like living in Georgia. Mostly going to Atlanta where my father works. There is much more there then there is in Gainesville. I do get pretty bored because I can’t go out anywhere unless super vision (FAMILY) I don’t really trust many people, and not my neighborhood at all too much gangs and graffiti. Certain people who I………………. don’t like at all.

My family is great. I love my parents most of the time. I only have two female cousins so I try to bond with them as much as I can and it’s pretty hard. My sister, I love her when she makes me cookies my mom hates those cookies cause there really peanut buttery! I don’t like my little sister much but I respect her usually. I hate her spoiled attitude. 

My friends…. I hang out with like 4 people and that’s it. Many kids at my school are like gangsters wanna be so I stay away from them. Don’t like them don’t think it’s cool I hate their appearance and I hate their music. Especially Nikkei manage and Lil Wayne. That’s why I don’t really have many friends.

My Life as Ricardo Garrido

My name is Ricardo but people call me Ricardo G. I was born on April 16, 2001 I’m 10 years old. I used to go to Gainesville Academy but switched to Lyman hall. Everyone here is nice the teachers, and students. My friends are: Miguel G, Richard, Uriel, Miguel F, Luis, Jose y, Alexander, Pedro, Ricardo H, Elijah,  Eric, Oman and Giovanni.

I live with my mom and dad I have one sister. I like to help and watch TV.  I go to church, and I am a Christian. At church, I am one of the helpers sometimes I help the teachers give out pamphlets or other things.

Things that I like to do outside my house are play soccer, watch movies like Scary, family, action, comedy etc.   I want to be a doctor when I grow up. My favorite books are fiction.  I like to hang out with my friends and play video games. I like to hear Christian music, hip hop, rap and rock.

My parents were born in Mexico, but I was born in the U.S.A. I like going to school and learning about things I’ve never done before. I’m in 5^th grade Mrs. Martin /Bagwell are my teachers Mrs. Martin teaches math and Mrs. Bagwell teaches reading and writing. I have been in 5^th grade for 117 days and I’m getting used to it. I go to a special class named bridges my teachers name is Mrs. Wendt.

 When I came here I was nervous. I was going to second grade. My teachers name was Mrs. Grindle. When I got to class the teacher introduced me to the other students at recess.  I was lonely but some boys wanted to be my friends so I agreed. In third grade my teacher was Mrs. Parker, there I got more used to learning. In fourth grade my teacher was Mrs. Griffith. Now I have Mrs. Bagwell / Martin.

In my old school when I took a test and passed it they gave me 2 things: Six flags ticket, free ice cream for a whole month. I really miss my old school.

Everything that happened until know is happy or sad but know you know what happened.

My name is Kimberly and I am so excited to be in this program!  I like to play soccer. In 4^th grade I started to play it because my friend Laura played with me.

 I really enjoy listening to music (my favorite artist is Taylor swift). I mostly spent my time listening to music. 

 Mostly in the mornings when I have to go to school I wake up really late (I wake up at like 6:42). So far I really enjoy going to Mrs. Parkers 5th grade class.  I change classes to go to math. My math teacher Ms.tatum is a great teacher (but not like Mrs.Wendt.  Mrs.Wendt is hilarious.)

Right now I am really enjoying this class. I started going to Mrs.Wendt in second grade. I really didn’t know why I was testing but after the test I figured I was going to go to Mrs.Wendts class. At first I thought she was going to be mean because I never saw her smile. After I think a week I started trusting her.

My best times in school have been with my best teacher mrs.wendt more of my best times has been in fifth grade. For example the first best thing was going to Mrs. Parker’s class and meeting new friends.  Another one of my best times is getting to have deputy martin to teach us about a.d.v.a.n.c.e. A.d.v.a.n.c.e stands for Avoid, Drugs, Violence, And, Negative, Choices, Early. Iris one of my classmates won the essay we had to do.  My friend Maria one for the poster (I am so proud of her).  After a few weeks she came and told us who was going to get to go to Lake Lanier ext. me and this other girl named Kelly got tied up with 4 stars which represented how many questions we got right.

My family is the best I could have. My mom’s name is Sandra she is really nice she bakes us really delicious things like cupcakes, cookies, sandwiches ext. my dad’s name is hector. I love my daddy (because he buys me things). My brother’s name is Giancarlo. He is really annoying but I still like him (can’t wait to go to college so I can get rid of him).

One of my dreams is either to become a cook, police, or a children’s doctor. I want to become a cook because I would like to be on TV.  I want to become a police so I can do good things and help others. I want to become a doctor so I can help children be healthy (and because it looks like an easy job). Another one of my dreams Is to get a laptop because I really want one. My greatest dream is to become a very famous person.

I really enjoy reading books. My favorite books are twilight books. I really got into those books I keep reading them over and over again. I actually thought I was in the story. I really enjoy reading those books.  I normally like reading books a little more advanced than my level.

My friends are really special to me.  One of my best friend’s name is Maria. She has been with me since 3^rd grade and we have been together in fourth and now that we are in fifth grade I feel like if we’re not going to see each other in middle school.  Another one of my friends name is Emily we were together in 3^rd grade and I am really glad that she is with me in 5 grade and I really appreciate that she is helping me when I have something that bothers me.  I have many friends that are not from this school.

Another thing I would like to share are my hobbies.  I like to draw and I like to go on the internet and play games.  I also like to watch the television.  I also like to write in a note book.

Things that I like are eating chocolate and junk food.  I also like coming to school and learning.  Another thing I like is playing games with my little brother (especially if I could beat him in those games).  Another thing I like to do is bother my cousin because of all the times he bothered me saying “I will always be 5 months and 6 days older than you”.

Some of my dislikes are people bragging or gossiping about other people (that is so rude !).  Another one of my dislikes are having too much homework. The next thing is having to do too many chores.

         Hi there my name is Vanessa Ponce and I am excited about coming to after school on Thursdays with Mrs. Wendt.I Like to listen to music one of my favorite songs are party rock. And another thing I like to do is art and I also enjoy spending time with loved ones like my family and friends some of my favorite sports are soccer and basketball but the best of all is karate I take karate lessons. I also like reading sires books like Dum diary or dork diary.   

I’ve always dreamed of being an actress and making moves. And I know if I want to make that dream come true I better study hard so I could get a very good degree and I won’t  get out of school. I say that because I’ve seen many people get out of school and none of their dreams ever came true unless one of their dreams was not for their dreams to come true.

Most often I think school is pretty boring. But in order to get to reach your  goals or your dream you got to go to school to learn, study and practice being what you want to be in life and I believe everyone has a future  and that they should never give up in trying to reach their dreams know that some parents or even themselves have problems saving up money so there children can go to college college is very expensive but remember whatever it is don’t let that bring you down you can easily study at home and  practice what you want to be at home make a show in front of your family.

I really think if your family can pay for college you should try your best on studying because you have the opportunity to be someone in life. I also believe that smart and not smart rich and not so rich people deserve a dream I also dislike that college asks for money it affects us because many people can’t go to college and get there dream.                                                                                                         

            Well I hope you make the right decisions hope to see you again. And I hope you’ve learned thing I like to do and stuff from my life I also hope you’ve learned to never give up I hope you have a great life.

Hi, I’m Happy Meal Well Actually That’s My Nickname; my real name is Sandy Nguyen.  Well what do you want to learn about me?  Let’s begin, I love soccer like with all my heart.  I can never give up on it. I’m mostly good at goalie.  I sometimes draw; I’m pretty amazing with it.  I have a little ferret named, Lucy. He’s very fun to play with and I’ve had him for almost 3 years, I really hope he stays with me till the end of 2012 and forever, because he’s very special to me, why? Because he’s my first pet and only pet I am ever having.  

Well back to me, I love the colors neon green, black, dark purple, and gray? Yeah, gray.  Hey, you want to know what T.V. show I love? It’s… SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!  Yeah, totally, ha-ha.  Uh, I love video games!  Yeah, I know, I’m into guy stuff, but no worries I’m still a polite girl… sometimes.  I also love shopping and dressing up… ONLY FOR SPECIAL DAYS.  Oh, Yeah, most importantly, I’m really fun to be around, I’m always crazy, so if you want to get in trouble come near me, I won’t bite.  My favorite school subjects are reading, mostly writing, and a little bit in math.

 Oh my gosh, ewe I sound girly saying Omg, but anyways I’m very, very, very talented in singing and dancing!  I love to sing, everyone says I’m amazing at dancing and a beautiful singer.  Last thing, when you look at me and you say I look Mexican or Hispanic, I’m not, I’m Perfectly Proud to be an Asian!  Wait! There’s more, I love meeting new people.  Don’t be shy, just step right up.;) Last One, I live with my dad and my family is separated.  We had some problems and it didn’t work out so I chose to live with my dad so he won’t be lonely, because my sister doesn’t like her step-dad, which is my dad.  Yeah, her dad died along time ago, and now she treats my dad like he’s not in the family so I don’t like her that much. Forgot to tell you what kind of music I Love.  My favorite songs are Drakes Music. He is legit.  He’s amazing I love hearing his songs Mostly ‘The Motto`,’ and ‘Take Care` . Moving On, Mhmm, well Let’s Start out with my kind, horrible, sweet family.  Let’s start out with my Daddy.  I love him a lot. He took care of me since I was a teeny, tiny baby, and continuing.  He loves to spend time with me.  He loves eating Burger King a lot.  My Dad works on a lot of computers, and he sells them pretty cheap, plus my dad is a cheap person, anything he see’s under $5.00 he will buy it.

 My dad teaches me a bunch of lessons, mostly when I get in trouble.  I’m lucky to have him, I know his past has been rough, but I’m trying to change that for him by making him smile.

 Ok, next person My mom, well she’s done a lot of things to me so … at least, I’m just going to say, she’s nice and loves to meet my friends.  She’s barely started working at The Chicken Factory.  She’s 50 years old. My mother is a great cook.  I love how she makes her Vietnamese food for us. Well that’s all I could say.

Ok, Ngoc!  Most of the teachers at Lyman Hall know her.  They think she’s amazing and all that, but they do NOT know how she acts when she is at home with me when I get off from school.  She is like living with the evil (no offense) , but I feel like that when she acts mean and showing off and all that.  I have to agree sometimes she is really smart, like smarter than a scientist.  She’s alright for an Asian girl.  I love her , sometimes but yeah, still a show off. 

I promise you the last time I’m going to type.  Back to me. My dreams.  What Dreams do I have? I really don’t know.  Well, let me think, I really want to go to New York and Paris.  It’s the bomb over there.  What I like and dislike?  I really dislike lobsters. Ha-ha, I know everyone loves it, but for me not much, and I dislike sushi.  I Love TACOS!  I love their delicious mouth watering taste.  I’m mostly addicted to eating Takis. Yeah, those hot chips.  I love drinking water mostly, and red bull, and importantly COKE!  I would get so hyper.

 My best friend ever is only Maribel Andrade.  She’s the only one I can be myself around.  I love her!  I can trust with everything, except for holding a camera, but anyways she’s amazing and fun to be around with, and if you are reading this I love you!  Ha-ha!

My Big fake brother is Yulio.  He is a really funny guy that my friend at church met.  We talk sometimes and hang out.  He’s a really good influence for me.  He treats me like his little sister.  Sometimes I don’t like it at times, but I‘m glad to be called his little sister.

First of all my name is Monica Becerra, what I dream to be is singer or maybe a dancer. The things  that I like to do is go outside to play volley ball, kick ball or soccer and sometimes just hear music or play other games outside.

These are some facts about me, I’m the only girl in the family, and I only have one brother, my favorite sport is soccer, my favorite food is taco bell, I’m the only in the family that doesn’t talk a lot, my favorite subject in school is reading another thing about me is my favorite color is light purple, my favorite place to go is the lake, I like pop music or electronic, my favorite song is hit the lights from Selena Gomez, and the very last fact about me is that I’m 11 years old.

 The things that I don’t like is the hot weather, I don’t like being tired, the only kind of music that I don’t like is rock, another thing that I dislike is waking up early, I don’t like fruit,

These are some things I like to say about my family starting with my mom she has taken care of me since I was born and I appreciate that a lot and she has been a very good mom, my dad has taken care of me too and has been a very good dad too, now about my brother he is a good brother too, but sometimes we fight.            My name is Emily. I like a lot of FUN things like I love coloring books.  Plus my favorite color is hot pink with black and white. I love playing outside but mostly playing when its sunny .I grows up in a barn when I was two years old but then I moved to Georgia. I love being funny. I mostly like having a good time.

            I go to community Baptist church. It is amazing because they take you to fun trips like Tennessee, camping and other fun things. Like when I went to Tennessee I had lots of fun I got to stay in a hotel I spent three days. There was water slid and a deep pool and a feet pool it also had a mushroom.  When I went camping I had lots of fun too I stayed in cabin. I also stayed with the ones that I spend in Tennessee.

            I go to school at Lyman hall elementary school. I am a bus monitor. I am bus monitors with Xiamena, Lesly,and Edis .my bus driver is miss. Casandra. I am rely proud of the kids I sit because they are really respectful.

            My favorite sport is basket ball and soccer plus boiling and tense.i like basket ball because It is really fun cheering to get out there and bouncing the ball.  I also like soccer because you got to focused to really enjoy the game. I like bowling and tennis because it is really cool.

Hi my name is Eduardo and I like to play soccer! My favorite soccer player is Lionel Messi. I get inspired by him and his techniques. My favorite team is Barcelona. They always beat Real Madrid. I also like Mexico they have good players they also play good.  Mexico always beats everybody.

I like to spend time with my family. I have 1 brother called Luis that is 7 years old and I also have another brother call Jose he is 2 years old. My dad likes to play soccer and he likes to watch soccer too. My mom likes to cook different kind of things.

 I have a Wii and a computer. I like to play Call of Duty for Wii Its fun. I also like to play different kind of games in the computer like sport, action, and adventure.

 My favorite food is Buffalo wings because they are so spicy and delicious. I like cheeseburgers too. I also like ice cream and cake. But my favorite dessert is a frosting shake. My favorite drink is grape juice. My favorite fruit is watermelons I like watermelons, apples and oranges. I like watermelons because they’re so juicy and delicious.

Want me to tell you what we do in school? My favorite subject is math. I like math because it is the easiest thing to do and to comprehend. I also like math because I always get 100s! I also like reading because when I read I like to visualize and making movies in my head. I think reading is easy because I’m already in the highest level and that’s the farthest I could go to. My favorite color is blue especially light blue or also called sky blue. My favorite song is called “shooting star” lmfao sings it with pit-bull and more artist. I am also in bridges that for advance people. My favorite specials are gym and music. The special that I don’t like are computers, literacy lab, and art. Did you know that they did a new program every Friday no wait they did two program. One is social studies and the other one is pep. I think you might think that pep sounds weird but that’s how they called it. We have to exercise in pep then when were finish we play a game. I don’t like going to writing every morning it’s boring and exhausting.  My favorite books are comic books because they have a lot of pictures and action. They also have onomatopoeia words. I also like scary books they entertain me because it has a little of mystery and scary.

I like going to the beach and to the lake. Once when I went to the beach I was in the water and I felt something bite me it hurt a lot. Next, I take my hand out and it was a crab then my uncle saw it and took it off with a stick. Me and my uncle were trying to do something funny to my aunt by taking the crab to her when she saw it she almost died of fear....  I will never forget that adventure in the beach.

My name is Edis and I was born in Florida. I am here because I moved when I was little. I go to the school Lyman Hall and I’m in 5^th grade. My birthday is in May the 12^th and I’m ten years old.

My favorite subject is math. The reason I like it is because there is always a right answer. I also, have high grades in math. Since I’m good at that subject I would like to work in the bank when I grow up. I also want to work there because it is an easy job for someone that is good at math. That is why I like being good at math.

          But, I do not like coming to school but I have to. I also do not like some things we do at school like homework, or writing that much but, I do like going out to recess and get away from doing work and have fun and talk with my friends. I also do not like going to specials except if it is P.E. I like it because we get to exercise and play games.

           I also have a big family of seven people. My mom and dad my older brother named Elmer that is already in 9^th grade. My second oldest brother named Wilson he is 12 and he is in 6^th grade and he bothers me too much. Then it`s me I am the medium child. Next there are my two little sisters Delmi and Daniela. Daniela is in 3^rdand Delmi still doesn’t go to school yet but she soon will.    

           My favorite food is pizza and I do not like eating vegetables like broccoli nor do I like carrots. I almost only like junk foods like chips, soda, and more junk foods. Burt my mom doesn’t make junk food all the time so I have to eat what she makes.

            I have a bunch of books that I like but my most favorite one is Katie Kazoo swicheroo. I like those books because Katie gets turned to another person by a wind that only blows around her when she is alone that is called the magic wind. Also because she gets into problems. That is why I like that book.

          Those were all of my favorite things to do and things I like and dislike.

Hello my name is David. My favorite sport is soccer. I am one of the best ones and my dream is to be like Lionel Messi the best soccer player in the world I will tell you more about me.

     I like playing with my friends. I spend time with my family. I have three more siblings one little brother named Elias which is in 3^rd grade and one bigger brother that is in college and is 19 years old and one sister older than me that is in 9^th grade and is 14years old. My favorite subject is math because I always get A’s grades. For me I comprehend it so easily.

      I go to BRIDGES for people advanced and so does my brother Elias. I run in gym and gym is my favorite thing to do in school. We play awesome games and I’m good at all of them.

        Did you know every Friday we have to go to a program at gym for the boys and girls club and we had to exercise it is called pep. That is one of the things I dislike in school. Another thing dislike is literacy lab, art, and computers because we never ever do something fun in my opinion and have done a readers theater in fifth grade. We can’t find a readers theater because it is all boys’ class. 

      My favorite books are comic books and joke books. I like reading especially about sports like soccer. I like researching Barcelona. They are my favorite team because they have Leonel Messi the best player in the world. They always beat and win Real Madrid. I have A Xbox I choose the soccer game.

       I visit my family almost every Sunday. I like playing with them and spending time with them. They come to Lyman hall Elementary school. I like to see my friends and play with them.

The lunchroom has healthy food which I like to get. Like pears, apples, and salad.        Well that’s all about me I hope you now you know a little bit about now.

Hi my name is Yadhira Gonzalez and I feel excited coming on Thursdays after school to Mrs.Wendt. I like to hang out with my friends and chat with them. Also l like listening to music one of my favorite songs is Party Rock. I also like eating candy like jolly ranchers, Kit Kat bars. One of my favorite sports is soccer and basketball. My favorite series of books is Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Dork Diaries. Most of all I like watching movies all different kinds of movies like funny, scary.  

I’ve always dreamed of being an actress or a fashion designer I still haven’t decide but as I get older I will really decide what I really want to be when I grow. But I better study hard so I can get a good degree and not drop out of school. It’s because if you drop out of school and you don’t study or go to college your dreams are not going to come true.

Sometimes I think school is boring. But you need to come to school in order to become a actress or what you what you want to be when you grow up .I think everybody should follow their dreams and never give up .I know sometimes parents have a difficult time saving money for their children to go to college but that never means you have to give up. So always try your best it is good for your studies.

I think you should always show your best to your family. It’s because then your parents will think you deserve to go to college. In my opinion I think everyone should go to college because everyone deserves a dream. Sometimes you think in order to go to college you need to be rich but you don’t the only things you need is to study hard and never give up.

I know sometimes your parents may have a difficult time saving up money. But that doesn’t mean you have to give up. I hope you all of you that give importance to being rich understands that doesn’t matter.

My name is Jaquelin Esquivel I live in Georgia, and my favorite color is.  My favorite food was always nachos!!! My birthday is in 2/16/01.  I am 11 years old .My favorite sport is soccer, and swimming. My favorite color is purple.  My most favorite subject is reading, and science. I go to school at Lyman Hall Elementary, and I’m in 5^th grade.  My teacher is Mrs. Harrison next year I am going to west Hall middle school.  I love coming to school to learn, but my favorite place I like to go visit is Mexico to go visit the rest of my family.

            When I get back from school I help my mom clean the house. I am nice to lots of people.  My favorite season is my best friends are Ana Ramirez, Monica Becerra, Iris Rocha, Aracely Ventura, and Monica Alonso.  My favorite holiday is Christmas because we get to get new stuff.  My favorite day is Friday because the Y.M.C.A guys come to our school, and we play games.  My most favorite person is my dad because he looks over me and loves me.  When I grow up I want to be a Vet, because I love animals.  My dream is going to college.  My favorite book is Wenny Has Wings.  My hobbies are reading, drawing, and plant a garden.  What I like to do when it’s the weak ends is to play in my trampling.

I have 2 brothers the bigger one goes to 10^th grade he is 15 years old his birthday is in march the 28^th  his name is German.  My other little brother is in 1^st grade he is 7 years old his birthday is in January the 21^st.  My favorite movie is scary movie 4.  I dislike is that there is bulling in the school.  I kind of like junk food because I love HOT CHEETOS, and TAKIS!!!
