HALL COUNTY HISTORY

Hall County was founded in 1818 and Atlanta in 1871. Hall County's first cotton mills arrived in the 1900s. Hall County had the Great Depression in the 1930s. Hall County's population grew 40% in 1990. Hall County's history is different from other counties in the South. The discovery of gold in Lumpkin started the first Gold Rush., in Georgia.
Hall County once was hit by a deadly tornado in 1936, when 200 were killed and 1,000 were injured.
In August 27th, 2008 a tornado hit Lyman Hall Elementary, but nobody got

Millions of people enjoy water sports at Lake Lanier. Engineers created 38,000-acre Lake Lanier at Hall County. Hall County is split in two by Chattahoochee River and Lake Lanier.

GAINESVILLE HISTORY

To begin with, Gainesville was named after General Edmund Pendleton Gaines. September 1899 - "Traffic Jam" Downtown Gainesville

In 1945 a group of people known as Gainesvillians met up for a meeting every Thursday night at the ballroom of Dixie Hunt Hotel to study Literature. Those clubs became less popular, later.
The sport that Gainesville liked and played was baseball, football, basketball and then golf came along. Many of Gainesville's classic old homes have had changes and disasters. These homes are now used for services. The Gainesville area has improved little by little. Gainesville is one of GA cities that has many tall buildings and parks.
Right now in 2010, Gainesville has many more people than it used to have; especially new advanced technology, equipment, music, different cultures and foods. There are way more celebrations and parties so as you can see, Gainesville, Geogia has improved a lot. That was some of the history of Gainesville.
